Climate Adaptation Research Agenda (CARA)2012-03-12
IntroductionThe aim of Climate Adaptation Research Agenda (CARA) is to provide European, national and sub-national actors involved in climate adaptation research with a common independent strategic view from CIRCLE-2 partners and contributing partners. CARA will display Areas of Interest of CIRCLE-2 partners and contributing partners that will be deeper assessed and used for future collaboration in CCIVA research across Europe (and beyond). [READ MORE] Areas of Interest: the ConceptAreas of interest represent a clear indication to decision-makers and scientific communities across Europe of what are - in CIRCLE-2 partner and contributing partner perspective - the necessary adaptation related areas where substantial support to knowledge production should be placed upon during the next decade and probably beyond. [READ MORE] Current Areas of InterestThis section depicts the identified areas of interest for climate adaption research that should be pursued in the coming years (possibly decades) and the main lines of evidence supporting the need for additional efforts in these areas. Each area of interest does not represent a hermetic compartment of climate research (or policy), but rather should be considered as a "cluster" of research topics and activities that are, in CIRCLE-2's view, necessary to drive European knowledge on climate adaptation.
Potential Areas of InterestIn the CIRCLE-2 community, there are several areas of interest expressed by some partners individually or identify as a Climate Adaptation Knowledge gap or priority in the European landscape. The "potential areas of interest" is a dynamic process that will be developed during the CIRCLE-2 live time. When one of these areas will be of interest from 3 or more CIRCLE-2 partners, the area becomes a "current area of interest". The current potential areas of interest are:
