Administratia Nationala de Meteorologie (METEO-RO) represents the Romanian Meteorological Service. Administratia Nationala de Meteorologie is a legal entity directly subordinated to the Ministry of Environment. METEO-RO carries out activities in meteorology, climatology and related impacts. METEO-RO has participated in more than 20 international projects in the Framework Programmes of European Union, since 1991. Specialists from the METEO-RO have been also involved in the elaboration of the Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) with 2 Lead-Authors, 4 Expert Reviewers and one Review Editor for the Synthesis Report.

The research programme "Studies of climate change in Romania - new dimensions of natural and anthropogenic climate impacts and adaptation measure" focuses on the regional responses to global signal of climate change, regional impacts and adaptation methodologies. Ministry of Environment funds and METEO-RO coordinates the research programme.

The National Meteorological Administration has a well-documented experience in European and international research programme cooperation.
