FINAL OPEN SCIENCE CONFERENCE OF THE EU/FP7 ACQWA CONFERENCE

4 September, 2013

ACQWA is one of the larger climate/environment projects under FP7 coordinated in Switzerland. It is a large integrating project with 37 partners in 30 academic and public institutions, in 10 countries across Europe, South America and Central Asia. The project is dedicated to shifts in mountain water resources in a warming climate, the impacts of changes in the quantity, seasonality and quality of water on key sectors of the environment (snow, glaciers, ecosystems, hazards) and the economy (hydropower, agriculture, tourism), possible adaptation to these impacts, and new paradigms for water governance that may be required to address these changes. A summary of the key issues and objectives of ACQWA are provided in the attached fact sheet.

Venue: headquarters of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in Geneva.

Open to all interested persons.
