Summer School "Protecting Mountains Society from Natural Hazards: Plans or Dams?"

24-29 June 2013

As part of the FORMOSE training programme on risk sciences sponsored by Council of Europe and the PEOPLE Initial Training Network 'CHANGES', the University of Strasbourg, the University of Lausanne, the Technical University of Delft, and the research institute IRSTEA, are organising a summer school on risk mitigations measures (plans, dams, early-warning systems, etc) for hydro-geomorphological hazards.

The course is designed for post-graduate (MSc, PhD, post-doc) students and young researchers.
The course combines theory and practical exercises, and includes some fieldtrips to relevant hazard hot spots.
The teaching team is international and across several disciplines.

The deadline for registration is 17 May 2013

Venue: South French Alps (Ubaye valley, Barcelonnette)
