XI World Congress of the Organisation of World Heritage Cities (OWHC) “World Heritage Cities and Climate Change”

22 - 25 November 2011

OWHC World Congress is held every two years and constitutes an international platform for Mayors, decision-makers and experts to discuss vital issues in the field of heritage conservation and management.

The XI OWHC World Congress, to be held in Sintra, Portugal from 22 to 25 November, will address the question of "World Heritage Cities and Climate Change". World Heritage cities are perhaps some of the most vulnerable to this phenomenon which is of universal concern and has the potential to impact humankind in many ways. The World Congress shall bring together stakeholders from political, practitioners', academic and media backgrounds to support awareness-raising, networking and exchange of experience in World Heritage and Climate Change in the urban context, capitalizing on each stakeholder's strengths and role in society.


Important deadlines:


Early registration until 30 June;

Normal registration until 31 August;

Late registration after 1 September.
