1st World Delta Summit / World Delta Conference

21-24 November 2011

1st World Delta Summit, the first world's largest open scientific and government summit on World Delta will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia on 21-24 November 2011 combining science, policy and practice elements. The event is organised by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI)/Delta Alliance - Indonesia Wing in partnership with the Provincial Government of Jakarta, and fully supported by the Coordinating Ministry for People's Welfare to be the first world event as such.

 1st World Delta Summit will be organised:

  • to share a common but differentiated responsibility on securing the deltas' functionality for our survivability;
  • to call for an immediate action with long term shared vision;
  • to produce acceptable and robust worldwide policies; and
  • to address the challenges and create new opportunities as well while reducing the disaster risks and properly alleviating the poverty under the changing climate.

The World Delta Conference is going to be held in conjunction with the 1st World Delta Summit. Participants of the World Delta Conference are welcomed to submit original abstracts for workshops and scientific contributions related to Innovative Delta Management and Policy, Delta Scientific Advancement and Breakthroughs, Regional Delta Problems and Solutions, and Delta Technical and Methodological Workshops.
