Role in CIRCLE-2: Advisory Board Member

Eric Vindimian devoted his career to the linkage between science and public policies in the field of environment protection. He is now director of the regional centre of Cemagref in Montpellier France where policy oriented research is performed on water management issues, spatial observation and green technologies assessment and development.

He has been head of research at the ministry for ecology in France for six years. At this position he oriented French research for environmental public policies towards a better integration within European networks via several active participations to ERA-Net projects (CIRCLE, Biodiversa, Crue, IWRM-Net, Skep, Envhealth).

He was also director of chronic risks at the national institute for industrial environment in France where he developed an independent professional expert organisation on risk assessment for ecosystems and human health. He was also representative of the French ministry of research in the Rhône-Alpes region, the largest French region but Paris.

He performed most of his personal research work in ecotoxicology and created a research laboratory on biological methods for freshwater ecosystem assessment. He has been involved in international standardization in the field of biological and ecological water analyses.
